Reason to Smile August Offer

Showing a clean and simple card today using the Reason to Smile stamp set which is on offer from Stampin' Up this month, see the link below for further details.

Here I have used colours of Daffodil Delight and Basic Back card together with Basic Black ink for stamping the sentiment and the flowers. The spritzer tool and Daffodil Delight marker have been used to fill in around the flowers.

I like the shadow look of this stamp, but check out the rest of the designs in the set here. The Reason to Smile stamp set is free during August if you spend £60 in one order, or can be purchased at a cost of £14.95 (clear mount) or £18.95 (wood mount).

Have a good weekend.

Mini Collage Cards

Here are a couple of cards with paper shapes, embellishments and stamped tiles arranged in a mini collage on one side of the card.

To make the card, stick the two vertical strips of paper to the right hand side of an A6 card and then add the horizontal scalloped strip. The pennant shape of paper and circle have first been been layered onto card before adding to the arrangement. And finally the focal point has been stamped onto decorative paper and  layered on to three similar pieces of card to give a thick tile effect (you could use a piece of chipboard instead). The 'tile' has then been fixed to the card with dimensional foam pads. This all sounds a bit fiddly but it is worth doing as the different heights of your layered pieces give a really pleasing finish to the design.

Back soon,

Julia

Mini Printer's Tray Project

Hi everyone, a beautiful sunny day today and I am indoors on my computer!

I attended a class yesterday with Hels Sheridan at the Stamp Attic in Wantage and had a really enjoyable time, so today I wanted to put the finishing touches to my piece or art.

Those of you who know me will understand that I am not usually one to get inky fingers, but it was a great day and I am so pleased with my finished project I wanted to share it with you.

Hope you have had a good weekend.

Masterboard Fun

It has been a very wet day here, so hope these cheerful colours will brighten things up a little.

The cards have been made from a 'masterboard'. Take a piece of A4 pink card and stamp some large pink flowers and a mustard swirl. Using a spritzer tool and co-ordinating marker pens spritz colours between your stamped images to fill in the gaps, or you could use a stipple brush to achieve a similar result. Then spray the card with water and let the colours 'bleed' a little. Now use a heat gun to dry the card. Stamp some mustard 'splodges' and black bees, birds and flower centres. You can also add some torn pieces of text paper on which the edges have been coloured with a dauber (see card no. 3 below). Your 'masterboard' is now complete and you can cut it up to required sizes to design your cards, I made five cards in total.

Please note that when the card has been sprayed with water and dried it will curl up a little, so when placing pieces on your card design be sure to stick them down with some strong sticky red tape.

Card Colours: Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, More Mustard and Basic Black
Inks: Melon Membo, More Mustard and Basic Black.
Stamp: Stampin' Up various sets
