Last Chance & Little Green Box

However, a place can still be secured on the Extravaganza by paying a deposit of £20, with the balance of the full price of £55 being paid by the 21st March. 

Now for my little green box.

This little box was part of a recent class and has been constructed from old olive card stock with toning papers from the brights paper stack. The contrasting flower has been made from six punched circles in two different sizes with a flower from the boho blossoms punch in the centre. This is all secured with a rhinestone brad.

The box was made to fit five little bars of chocolate from a well know chocolate shop, however by the time we made the box only three bars remained!

Life is Beautiful - Tag Along

Hi and welcome to my tag along.

My colour combination for this tag is river rock and rich razzleberry. I took a workshop last Saturday with a lovely group of ladies and the card we made was in the same colourway, I liked it so much I thought I would use the colours again.

Firstly I stamped part of the large Medallion in river rock ink onto river rock card. I then overstamped this with two images from the Style Beautiful set of stamps in rich razzleberry. To layer the tag I used the text paper from the Brights Paperstack. The sentiment is embellished with two leaf flourishes punched from the Two-Step Bird Punch and dabbed with rich razzleberry ink using the sponge daubers.

To complete the tag I added a round tab to the top, pierced holes around the medallion image and finished with a few pearls.

Style Beautiful Twisted Easel Card

Hello, long time since my last post as I have been busy with classes and workshops for some lovely ladies.

Here is a twisted easel card I made in colours of baja breeze and soft suede together with the beautiful Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper.

The main image and greeting have been stamped in soft suede ink using  the 'Style Beautiful' set of stamps. Early Expresso 1cm Taffetta Ribbon works really well with this colour scheme. The base card is a 12cm square which I think is a good size for this type of easel card.

For anyone coming to my easel card class tomorrow, no this is not one you will be making. However I am sure you will enjoy making the ones I have prepared for you.

Love Letter Class Cards

Here are the projects from my recent Love Letter classes. We had a great time at both classes with several of my loyal crafting friends and some lovely new ladies, so looking forward to more classes to come over the next few months.

The cards and bottle tag were all made using the Love Letter Designer Series papers and have been mixed with colours of riding hood red, very vanilla, basic black, basic grey and old olive.

We used stamps from three Sale-a-Bration sets of Bliss, Sweet Summer and Punch Bunch, together with 'thanks' and 'happy birthday' sentiments from the Perfect Punches set in the main catalogue.

Beware Pirates! Tag

For my tag this week I have been playing around with the Beware Pirates stamp set kindly on loan from my Manager Hayley. I have seen some fantastic projects and cards made with this stamp set using various colour schemes, including a girly version of bright pink and black which is very striking. However, I decided to use colours of old olive, pumpkin pie and concord crush. 

I was a little out of my comfort zone with this one as I  felt the stamp designs called for some tearing and distressing on the project. As you can see I have not taken it too far though!

To make the tag:

Cut a tag shape from old olive card and, using concord crush ink, stamp the right hand edge of the tag using the decorative edge of the pirate/skull image. Use a sponge dauber to smudge concord crush ink around the tag and a tool from the distressing kit to file the edges. 

Stamp the pirate/skull image with concord crush ink onto very vanilla card and colour around the image using sponge daubers with old olive and pumpkin pie inks. Tear around the image and colour the torn edges with pumpkin pie. Cover the piece all over with 'Versamark' ink and emboss with clear powder.

Stamp 'Beware Pirates' in concord crush onto pumpkin pie card, tear the edges and colour with concord crush. 

Wrap gold thread around the bottom of the tag and secure with sticky strip. Punch hole in the top of the tag and fix a large antique brass eyelet using the crop-a-dile. Insert ribbon and tie round with gold thread. Snip the top edges of the ribbon and fray.

Stick images to tag, using dimensionals to raise the pirate/skull image. Add mini brads from the regals colour collection in a scattered design to finish.

Wine Bottle Tag using Love Letter Designer Papers

For my class next week we are going to be making four cards and a tag using the Love Letter Designer Papers in the classy colours of vanilla, riding hood red and black. Here is a preview of the tag we are going to make, designed to fit over the neck of a wine bottle.

I have stamped the letter 'V' to represent valentine or vino using the Broadsheet Alphabet set, or you could use the initial of the recipient of the bottle.  As a contrast old olive ink has been used for the stamping and a torn strip of old olive cardstock added to tie in the colours. Basic black taffeta ribbon has been 'ruched' down the side of the tag. I especially like the fact that the taffeta ribbons are more subtle shades of all the colours and the basic black is more of a charcoal grey, which is perfect for the vintage look. The tag, torn papers and hearts have been distressed with soft suede ink around the edges, seems an odd colour choice to add to the above but I think it works.

The beautiful Broadsheet Alphabet set (£36.95 clear mount) has a different decorative design for each letter and has been used on the 'Artsy' journal featured on the front cover of the current Idea Book and Catalogue.

Class Cards

Hello, I hope you are all having a good weekend.

I have had an exciting week. On Tuesday I held my first class at home since becoming a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. Thanks to Anita, Natalie, Linda, Jayne, Carol, Elaine, Julie and Carla who attended. I am really looking forward to the second class next week (must start designing and preping the samples!).

On Saturday I attended training at my Manager Hayley's house. I had a great time and came back with a whole load of goodies and samples, plus some very helpful tips and ideas for cards and projects. Thank you Hayley.

Here are the cards we made at my first class.

The 'birthday' card uses cardstock colours of baja breeze, crumb cake and pretty in pink with stamping in baja breeze and soft suede. For the 'just for you' card I used cardstock of baja breeze, crumb cake and soft suede and again stamped in soft suede. Both cards feature the beautiful 'elegant soiree' designer papers.

In the other two cards above, I have used cardstock colours of rich razzleberry, baja breeze and pear pizzaz. The 'poppy' is stamped in marina mist with a fold of old olive striped grosgrain ribbon and a tiny tag to finish. The bird has been punched (£15.50 for two-step bird punch) from crumb cake cardstock  and I have used paper from the 'designer series paper patterns stack' in the brights selection (£15.50 for 40 sheets of 12" x 12" in 10 colours).
