Weekend Workshop

Hello, just a quick post today showing two cards from a workshop hosted by a lovely friend Julie at the weekend.

I demonstrated a background technique using an embossing folder. I have not embossed this but just opened out the folder, inked the raised side and then pressed this onto a piece of very vanilla card. As this has not been embossed you can then stamp your design over the top.

The particular embossing folder used above is called Vine Street and is only available as part of the Sale-a-bration promotion until Friday 22nd March, details here. However, there are plenty of other embossing folders in the main catalogue from which you could achieve a similar effect.

My next card is one of the cards made at the workshop. This combines colours of black, white and pool party with a touch of bling added with the butterfly punched from the silver glimmer paper.

Have a good week.

Clockworks 3

Here is the final card in my series of using the background stamp from Clockworks.

Additional stamps used are the butterfly stamp from Creative Elements and the greeting from Vintage Verses which is part of the Sale-a-bration offer, details here.

The ink colour used to stamp the background, and the base card colour is Wisterior Wonder.

Have a good week.

Clockworks 2

Hello again. Here is the second card in this mini series, using the 'Clockworks' background stamp.

The additional stamps on today's card are the seed heads and stem from Summer Silhouettes and the sentiment from Perfectly Penned.

Card and ink colours are Basic Black and Pretty in Pink.

I added three small pearls to the bottom of the stem.

Back soon with the last card in this set of three.

Clockworks

Starting a series of three cards using the background stamp from the 'Clockworks' stamp set. These cards rely on simple designs and colour contrasts to give a maximum effect.

All the cards in this series are stamped onto Whisper White card and layered onto a black mat. The additional colour on this first card is Summer Starfruit.

Other stamp sets used:  Vintage Verses (available during the Sale-a-bration promotion here) and Just Believe.

Since taking the photo I have added 3 small pearl gems to the card in between the leaves.

Back soon with the second card.

Time to Enjoy

Something a little different for me. I saw these stamps used in a recent craft magazine and treated myself. I have thoroughly enjoyed trying something which is a little out of my comfort zone.

Card used to make the base card is Summer Starfruit from Stampin' Up. Inks used are Summer Starfruit, Tempting Turquoise, Raspberry Ripple and Basic Black. Please note that the background colours on these samples have been blended and therefore 'crossover' colours such as orange and green will appear.

And a second card:

Centres of the cogs and clocks on both samples are 'poppers' used in dressmaking.

I hope you have enjoyed these cards, and I will be back soon with some samples featuring the background design in the Stampin' Up set 'Clockworks'.

Hello Again!

At last I have managed to get myself organised enough to post an entry on my blog.

As you may know the Stampin' Up Sale-a-bration promotion is in full swing and further details can be found here. This promotion allows you to choose one of the Sale-a-bration products free for every £45 you spend, and there are also extra bonuses if you host a workshop during this period. The promotion continues until the 22nd March so if you would like more information or would like to order any products please contact me, details above. The new Spring and Summer Mini catalogue is now out and if you would like a copy of this posted to you please let me know.

I met a friend yesterday who was urging me to put some more card ideas on my blog, so here goes. These first three cards have been made using stamps from the Sale-a-bration brochure, and this first card uses one of the new Designer Builder Brads for the flower.

And next a simple card for Easter.

On this next one, after stamping the design the whole piece has been embossed with the 'dots' embossing folder.

And finally a card using the stamp set Serene Silhouettes (but please note the water droplets are not from SU). The embellishment is a Soda Pop Top available from the new Spring and Summer Mini catalogue.

Phew, a long post. Hopefully I will be back before too long with another.

Happy New Year

Just a quick post to wish you all a Happy and Healthy New Year, and to say thank you to everyone who has supported me in 2012 by your friendship, by hosting a party or by following my blog.

My house move is imminent, so hopefully by the middle to the end of January I will have my craft space set up in my new home and will be ready to get crafting again.

I look forward to catching up with you all in 2013.
