Christmas Present

Christmas all wrapped up! With today's two cards I wrapped Stampin' Up papers around a piece of card cut into the shape of a present. Then added ribbon, a bow and a tag. Very simple cards to make.

The base cards have been embossed with dots, and the tag is from the 'Tags til Christmas' set stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink.

Card colours used are Old Olive and Whisper White for the first card, and Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler for the second.

Have a good weekend.

Watercolour Winter

At last, time to show a recent quick and simple card. No excuses really as I have now RETIRED from work.

For this card I have stamped the the fir branch from the new Watercolour Winter set directly onto very vanilla card and then sprayed with the new Smooch Spritz in gold. I stamped the poinsettia flower on a spare piece of card, cut it out, then daubed and curled the edges before adding to the card. This was then mounted onto an A6 card blank (tent style). Rounding the corner or your image and card adds interest and draws your eye to the design in the corner.

The sentiment 'Noel' is from a new stamp set called Greetings of the Season, with four very useful sentiments for Christmas.

Colours used:
Ink - new Raspberry Ripple, Old Olive
Card - new Raspberry Ripple, Very Vanilla

Back soon,

Julia

Season of Joy - Last Chance

Last few days to order stamps and accessories on the retired list. Today I am showing a couple of Christmas Cards made with one of my favourite sets 'Season of Joy' which is sadly being retired.

This wooden mount set is currently available on the retired list for £21.71 (normally £28.95). Season of Joy is a very versatile set, as in addition to the Christmas themed stamps there are two flower stamps that can be used for any occassion and a very versatile swirl which I have used in many of my designs in the past.

Would like to point out that the sentiment 'Joy at Christmas' on the second card is from a set called Perfect Punches which is not being retired.

Colours used for both cards are Real Red and Old Olive ink and card, with the addition of Red Glimmer Paper and Brushed Gold cardstock.

If anyone would like to order 'Season of Joy' please contact me by Wednesday at the latest, and if the set is still in stock I will order it for you.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately due to the fact that I have been away on holiday to Turkey where temperatures were in the 90's, so feeling a little chilly this week!

Christmas Cardmaking Class - Reminder

Just a reminder that there are a few places left on my Christmas Cardmaking Class on the 6th October 2012 to be held in the hall at Tidworth Community Centre, Wylye Road, Tidworth, between 10.00am and 2.00pm.

During the 4 hour class you will make approximately 12 cards, but like last year there will be no pressure to rush and keep up with others, just enjoy some time crafting and make as many cards as you are comfortable with.

Some of the cards will be using items from the Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue which runs from 1st September 2012 to 31st January 2013. Please let me know if you would like a copy of this catalogue.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided, but please bring your own lunch if required.

Cost of the class is £28, which will include a copy of the 2012/2013 Annual Catalogue due out on 1st October 2012.

Please bring your own preferred tape tape/glue/adhesive to the class along with some foam pads.

If you would like to book a place please give me a call on 07796 682902 or contact me by email at juliajor@googlemail.com. I will need to take a £10 deposit to be received by Saturday 22nd September, but please book with me first to ensure there is a place as numbers are limited.

On the day I will also be selling off some of my craft stash (to make way for new!) mostly other makes, but may include some retired items from Stampin’ Up if there is anything left.

Please note that payment for the class and any ‘sale’ items purchased on the day is cash or cheque. However, I can take a card payment for any items purchased from the Stampin' Up catalogues.

Elegant Aviary

Posting a card today using the Aviary stamp set (again!) and strips of scrap paper from the Stampin' Up DSP paper stacks.....

This design layout works well for a single image stamp and just by changing the image and colours of paper you can make cards to suit all occassions.

Sorry the picture is not very clear but you will get the general idea. The base card is white and the ink colours for stamping are Basic Grey and Island Indigo. The spritzer tool and a Tempting Turquoise marker have been used to create a background for the stamped image.

Colours used here are Basic Grey, Pretty in Pink and So Saffron. I love the flower centre used here to stamp a spotty border.

Have a good weekend.

Here I have used colours of Daffodil Delight and Basic Back card together with Basic Black ink for stamping the sentiment and the flowers. The spritzer tool and Daffodil Delight marker have been used to fill in around the flowers.

I like the shadow look of this stamp, but check out the rest of the designs in the set here. The Reason to Smile stamp set is free during August if you spend £60 in one order, or can be purchased at a cost of £14.95 (clear mount) or £18.95 (wood mount).
